Service-Based Fee Waiver Application

Thank you for your interest in Georgetown Law. Due to the high volume of requests, fee waivers may take up to a week to process. Fee waivers are only available for first-year J.D. applicants.

You can find more information about our available fee waivers here. NOTE: You must secure a fee waiver before submitting your application - we do not refund application fees under any circumstances. Applicants who received a fee waiver in a previous admissions cycle in which they applied for admission to the Law Center are not eligible to receive another waiver. Applicants who received a fee waiver in a previous admissions cycle in which they ultimately did not submit an application for admission to the Law Center must apply again to receive a waiver.

Only the listed programs are eligible for a service-based fee waiver. We do not grant fee waivers for Americorps or NYC Teaching Fellows.

Proof of Service

Please provide us with proof of service on official letterhead. Screenshots of web pages or emails will not be accepted. We will contact you if what you have provided is insufficient proof.

For military: we do not accept Military I.D. as sufficient proof of service. Most applicants submit duty orders or an officer brief. Please submit a document that has the signature of a Commanding Officer.
For TeachForAmerica: TFA is the only Americorps partner we will provide fee waivers for. Your proof of service should be on official TFA letterhead, and should include the signature of a supervisor or TFA Administrator.
For Peace Corps: Your proof of service should be on official Peace Corps letterhead, and should include the signature of a supervisor or Peace Corps Administrator.
For Truman Scholars: Please submit a certificate or document on official letterhead.
For Jesuit Volunteer Corps: Your proof of service should be on official JVC letterhead, and should include the signature of a supervisor or JVC Administrator.
